The role of gabion net in the prevention and control of debris flow disasters

Gabion net, also known as gabion net, heavy hexagonal net and lead wire cage, is an ecological grid structure. Gabion mesh is made of low carbon steel wire with high corrosion resistance, high strength and ductility or steel wire above PVC coating by mechanical weaving. The box structure made of this mesh is gabion. According to ASTM and EN standards, the diameter of low-carbon steel wire used varies according to engineering design requirements. Generally between 2.0-4.0mm, the tensile strength of the steel wire is not less than 38kg/m2, and the weight of the metal coating is generally higher than 245g/m2. The diameter of the edge line of the gabion mesh is generally larger than the diameter of the mesh line. The length of the double stranded part shall not be less than 50mm to ensure that the metal plating layer and PVC layer of the steel wire in the bonding part are not damaged.
Gabion mesh can be divided into four categories: gabion cage, gabion mesh cushion, gabion mesh retaining wall, road protection gabion mesh. Among them, gabion retaining wall, as a new type of retaining structure, has been used more and more because of its low cost, good ecology, wide scope of application, flexible deformation and other characteristics.
